Pharm.D or Doctor of Pharmacy is introduced in the Indian pharmaceutical education system by government of India & Pharmacy Council of India. Pharmacy is considered as the field that leads the community towards a healthy life. The primary role of a pharmacist is to make the patient feel comfortable about his/her health and provide counseling for the patient apart from dispensing medicine. As members of the health care team composed of physicians and nurses, among others, pharmacists have an opportunity for direct involvement with patient care.
